"Ode to the Sound of Autumn" is a verse poem written by the Song Dynasty writer Ouyang Xiu in the autumn of 1059. Ouyang Xiu was fifty-three years old at the time. He chose the theme of "sad autumn" to express his anguish and regret for life.
